A Day with Sue Munday....

Today was spent with Sue learning how to use the embroidery bed on my machine. WOW what an amazing day getting to grips with my machine and its possibilities. I knew it was possible !! but reading instructions and following them hardly works for me !! And some of it initially didn't today until we realised that the 'manual' expected you to already 'know' stuff !! Well below is just one of the samples l produced, and l have named it 'my coat of arms' lol. THANK YOU Sue. Now l have to play with the designs and design my own...Ohh the possibilities.....And now l have some, well quite a few, Christmas pressie ideas !

Day out

We went to Larmer Tree at Tollard Royal today as they were holding a Christmas Fayer. Some lovely handmade gifts etc; the gardens were amazing and will be re-visited next year when they are in full bloom.

Another string....

A friend wondered if l could re-upholster two lovely chairs that she had from her gran....yes l said, and what a wonderful transformation. They were an old mustard colour.... but they now needed to be pink, so l got to work. I should have taken a before and after shot ! She loves them :-)

Elephant bowl and Diary

As promised a picture of the elephant bowl that was hard to describe colour wise.....

and tonights work, a 2012 diary cover.

Finished

Well both of the cyber shops are now stocked ready for the Christmas rush (I hope). Already had two sales :-)
Today l have also made two elephant bowls, both commissions. Both are really nice and I am very pleased with them, the Swarovski bead eyes really make them. One is in the same purples as l have posted previously. The second was in a 'cracked ice' pattern. I will have to download a picture as trying to describe the colour escapes me.

Folksy

My Folksy shop has now been re-stocked. Search for textile alchemist under handmade to find my shop. I had forgotten how long it takes to write templates for the items, work out postage and packing and then place them. Now l have to repeat the process for Etsy (search for textile crafts on this site). Should be quicker as have a lot of the details already logged !!  Happy looking...
